Why do my feet feel so bad? Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of foot pain. It commonly causes stabbing pain that occurs with your first steps in the morning. Poor footwear, standing on hard surfaces, worn out shoes, too much activity and walking without shoes can cause inflammation of the fibrous band of tissue at the bottom of your food causing pain. That band of tissue, known as “fascia” supports the muscles and arch of your foot. If they become overly stretched, tiny tears can occur. This can cause serious pain and inflammation.
What should you do?
- Wear proper footwear all the time
- Ice your feet regularly
- Massage your feet and calves
- Keep your feet in a flexed position while sitting for long periods of time
- Strengthen your feet
- See a podiatrist if the pain continues
- Come in for a free custom shoe fitting. Try on a pair of HOKA or Brooks running/walking shoes and see what a difference properly fitting shoes can make!
